This is a great cartoon super hero book about super hero animals but with a twist of normality in it! The Don’t Panic Gang are a ‘group of helpful do-gooders, whose motto is quite simply…..We are right here to help (but ,shhhh, don’t tell anyone).’
It is a funny book with detailed pictures of city scenes and colourful, bold pictures of the animal super heroes. You see them in their domestic settings before they have their outfits one which adds to the amusement as they are ‘ordinary’ animals. But if there is a call for help they turn into Sumo Cat, Ninja Bird and Kung-Fu Worm.
There are lots of action illustrations of them getting into their outfits and then dealing with the situation. The text is varied with mixed fonts to aid to add the flow and movement of the story. The language has some great catch phrases in there too.
As with many good yarns there is a twist at the end and a little black and white flash back of how their call for action came about. This then leads to an additional super hero discovery but you’ll have to read it to find out more!
