Where's Tim's Ted? It's Time for Bed!
Illustrator: Russell AytoTim is staying on his grandparents’ farm: one bedtime his beloved pink Ted is missing. Everyone searches but Tim is sent to bed without Ted. Unable to sleep, he goes out on a teddy hunt. Before long not only has he enlisted the help of dog Ben, but the chickens, the horse, the cows, the ducks, a flock of sheep and a goat have also joined the search. A search that finally ends in the pig-sty where Ted is spied mistakenly tucked in with mummy pig on account of his being piglet pink. This rhyming romp with its liberal littering of speech bubbles is greatly enhanced by Ayto’s scraggy legged animals and their visual antics. These are made even more interesting by the frequently changing page designs, which range from double spread scenes to vignettes.
It’s good to see this reissue in a larger format than before; this makes it more appropriate for sharing with groups of listeners who will be much better able to enjoy the detail in the comical nocturnal capers.
