The Phoenix Comic and David Fickling Books announce dates of 2026 Phoenix Fest
The 2026 Phoenix Fest will take place in Oxford over the weekend of 25-26 April 2026 with over 6,000 in-person and digital tickets on offer for families. Organisers the Phoenix Comic and David Fickling Books promise a weekend of interactive fun and community with live comic artist shows, draw-a-longs and meet the artist sessions. It will be held in major venues across Oxford University with some events taking place in the Sheldonian Theatre.
Tom Fickling, Editor-in-Chief, The Phoenix comic and Deputy Chair, David Fickling Books says, ‘Phoenix Fest is a celebration of
all things Phoenix and the only children’s comic focused festival in the UK. It’s a chance for Phoenix readers to see and meet some of their favourite comic creators, like legends Jamie Smart and Neill Cameron. Each week hundreds of pieces of fan-art flood into Phoenix HQ so we know first-hand how comics spark imagination, creativity and a love of reading and drawing. It feels fitting that, as we head into the 2026 Year of Reading, Phoenix Fest 26 will be the biggest and best yet with two days of workshops and shows all focused on inspiring kids to get reading, writing and drawing!’
Tickets will go on sale in January 2026, but families can sign up now for more information at www.phoenixfest.co.uk
