Bunny's Most Fabulous Holiday Ever!
Bunny is eagerly anticipating the peace and quiet and the solitude her annual holiday by the sea will provide. The first day with her simple routine goes really well and she celebrates with a hot pre bedtime drink before letting the sound of the waves send her off to slumberland. Next morning though, she receives a horrible surprise in the form of a purple monster that has set up camp right beside her caravan.
Throughout the day, the monster, Bob, keeps distracting Bunny with his various activities, even meditation, and all she wants is for him to go. Then as she’s endeavouring to relax a little, she realises that a storm is brewing. The storm blows Bob’s things all over the place and it’s evident that he’s having a really awful time, so much so thinks Bunny, that he’ll be forced to return home. However, as she watches him looking so miserable under a useless brolly she has a change of heart and she extends a hand of friendship, taking the monster into her warm dry caravan. It turns out that the two enjoy many of the same things, Bunny’s mood changes from grumpy to good, the new friends have an amazing time together, making memories and as they part, they plan to meet up for more wonderful experiences the following year.
A fun story about being open to new experiences and friendships, and learning that differences are to be enjoyed. The quirky illustrations capture the contrasts between the characters really well and young children can have fun spotting all the rainbows on items the monster uses; perhaps he even donated one to Bunny when she departed.
